"What kinds of treatments do you offer?"

Chiropractic Services

Chiropractic is a type of alternative medicine that emphasizes the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system, namely the spine, joints, muscles and nerves. Termed from the Greek “chiro-”, meaning the “hands”, and “praktikos”, meaning “concerned with action”, chiropractic is the scientific practice of utilizing the hands to effect a positive change in a patient's function, by correcting structural and biomechanical aberrations in spine and joint posture, and thereby eliminating interference patterns with the nervous system to diminish pain and to promote health.

In other words, when a patient's posture has been shifted out of its normal balance either from injury, overuse, or poor habits, it can create nerve interference and cause pain, inflammation and muscle spasms and promote degeneration and disability. The chiropractic physician identifies areas of the body (spine and major joints) where these interference patterns exist, and corrects them manually via “adjustments”, to allow for the joints, muscles and nerves to function optimally, and thus decreasing the reliance on addictive medications or expensive surgeries.

Chiropractors utilize the latest medical advances to assist with this process of diagnosis, including x-rays, CT scans, MRI's, EMG's, and other specialized medical testing, and are competent in treatment of neuromusculoskeletal injuries through the use of spinal manipulation, physical therapy, and exercise/postural training.
